Our Philosophy for Child Care
The children of today are the men and women of tomorrow. What we do for children today is what they will do for us tomorrow.

It is our doctrine is to provide children with an ideal atmosphere that enables them to grow mentally, physically, emotionally, and confidently. In order to achieve this goal, we must supply the children with the necessary tools. Therefore, it is our obligation and commitment to the children to expose them to a safe, healthy, clean, and nutritional environment while teaching them to grow with confidence in a multiracial and multicultural atmosphere. Along with these attributes, children should be given a positive place where they can interact between other children while feeling it is their domain. Here they will be allowed the latitude to discover and explore their surroundings. Physiologically, this opens all communication gaps allowing us to recognize any potential additional developmental needs in their individual stages, and then discussing them with the parent.

Disciplinary Regulations points to Remember

1) Effective discipline helps children learn self-control and cooperation.
2) Reward and punishment are not the only effective methods of discipline. Children also learn through example.
3) To select appropriate methods, it is important to consider a child's development level.
4) Effective methods of discipline are:
                 a) Distracting the child
                 b) Ignoring misbehavior when appropriate
                 c) Structuring the child's environment
                 d) Controlling the situation, not the child
                 e) Planning time for loving and letting go
                 f) Increasing your consistency
                 g) Noticing positive behavior
                 h) Using the time out method (the step, playpen, separation, and quiet time).
5) Using natural and logical consequences by giving children choices. Natural consequences result by going against the laws of nature. Logical consequences are the result of going against the rules of social cooperation.
6) Logical Consequences...
                a) Express the rules of social living
                b) Are related to the misbehavior
                c) Separate the deed from the doer
                d) Are concerned with what will happen now, not with past behavior
                e) Are given in a friendly way.
                f) Permit choice
7) Guidelines for Using Logical Consequences:
                a) When a child makes a decision, let the decision stand for the moment, later, give the child
                    another opportunity to cooperate.
                b) Increase the amount of time for the consequences each time the same misbehavior occurs. .
                c) When you give a child a choice, phrase the choice respectfully (respect the child's choice).
                d) Say as little as possible and avoid nagging or threatening.
                e) Make it clear when there is no choice.
                f) Keep hostility out of the consequences.
8) Spending some quality time everyday with a child is good for your and our relationship and can help prevent  behavior problems.
9) Too much protection, permissiveness, or demands for obedience will prevent children from becoming independent.
10) A time out is a form of logical consequences. We will use it as a last resort when other methods have not worked. We will use it and all guidelines above in order to keep control and maintain a safe environment for all our children.
Everyday is a new learning day for your child/children and us.

Transportation Slips
